Mariela Alvarez-Sosa

As the founder of Lucid Healthcare Consulting, Inc. (Lucid), Mariela brings her knowledge of provider recruitment, contract negotiation, compensation reviews, and practice options to healthcare systems seeking to expand their provider workforce, and to physicians making their next career transition.
Mariela's unique coaching style has garnered her the respect of her peers and made her a trusted ally to healthcare systems, clinical practices, and executives and physicians at all stages of their careers.​

​Combining her unique communication style and skills molded from decades in the field, and her background in HR, business development and marketing, Mariela focuses on the intrinsic needs of her clients to create unique client-centric approaches. She also works with healthcare systems nationwide consulting in the areas of physician alignment, recruitment and engagement strategies, and provider recruitment process improvement.
Prior to launching Lucid, Mariela worked for Memorial Healthcare System, one of the largest public healthcare systems in the nation, as their Vice President of Physician and Provider Recruitment and Engagement Strategies where she had oversight of system-wide physician recruitment and onboarding initiatives for all service lines. During her tenure at Memorial, Mariela built a recruitment division from the ground up which was responsible for all physician/provider talent acquisition activities, including branding, sourcing, recruitment and onboarding.
Before Memorial, she was Associate Administrator for Florida Medical Center where she had oversight of strategic planning, program development, physician relations and physician recruitment, and was responsible for leading service line comprehensive marketing and communication campaigns and spearheading the hospital’s rebranding initiative. She held similar roles for HCA and other Tenet facilities. She began her career at the University of Miami where she last served as Director of External Relations and spearheaded projects between the university and city government, was responsible for campus-wide events and worked closely with Spanish-language media to represent research and colleges at the University’s main campus. Mariela received both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Miami. She holds several certifications: SPHR, CPRP, PPMC and has served as Vice President of the Southeastern Physician Recruiter’s Association and frequently presents at educational conferences on the topic of recruitment processes, talent acquisition and employer branding.
